Blood Pressure and my Nurse Assistant

My Blood Sugar reading is fluctuating, so I decided to take my blood pressure as well. I took it five times, and every reading was significantly different.  I looked up why it would be different if I took it several times in a row, and I couldn't find a good reason.

I remember both times I went to the hospital with extremely high blood sugar, my blood pressure was also exceptionally high.  None of my blood pressure readings today were in the normal range; they were slightly elevated, but still aggravating.

Buddy heard all the beeping and buzzing from the blood pressure machine, so he came over to see what was going on.  Now, if I could just teach him to dial 911 in case of an emergency.

Fingers crossed that Canada will elect a leader to stir up the rest of the world against the orange tyrant.

More later ...

  1. I hope your blood sugars and BP settle down soon! I hope the Canadian election produces the results I voted for too.

  2. Need to keep a close eye on those readings. Keep your phone close by always. Buddy wants to make sure you're ok.

  3. My blood pressure reading at recent doctor visits has been higher. I realize I do have 'white coat syndrome' and I think too that if I didn't have to drive to the doctor's office it would also be lower...crazy drivers...not me, of course! LOL Anyway, I decided to start monitoring it at home, and it was really high. So much so that I called the dr office and they said come in. It was lower when I got there, and he talked to me for awhile and then took it again...still low. I had taken my monitor with me, and he asked me to take it on mine, and it was high. He pointed out that I was putting the wrist cuff on incorrectly. All good after that, just embarrassed. He did say that as we age our blood pressure safe range goes up some. I was always shooting for 120/80, but it was a decade or two ago when I was told that number goal. He said a bit higher is perfectly fine presently.
