Something Interesting

Sometime after Trump took office, I deleted my Facebook account because I could not help but repost ugly things about Trump, Musk, Bezos, and Zuckerberg. That was the responsible thing to do, as people you are friends with and/or follow may not share the same views and don't want to hear it repeatedly.

I'm considering moving back into my own apartment, and I need to use Marketplace on Facebook to find some good deals.  Since I had deleted my account, I needed to open a totally new Facebook account. When I attempted to do this, I received some unusual messages stating that my previous account did not meet their standards.

I knew I had never said anything out of line, except for expressing my political views, so I requested a review of the matter.

I received a message today stating that I did not meet their standards and that I could not appeal again or open any new account.

Well, excuse me ...

Somehow, my life will go on just fine.

  1. Incredible! Those are standards it is good not to meet!

  2. Or FB is just punishing you for deleting your account.

  3. No appeal on Facebook. I did not know that. I am mainly on X and Truth Social where people from all over the world share news and opinions.

  4. I recently deleted my account as well. I really haven't been on regularly in years, maybe two or three times a year, and only kept it because there are a few people who only kept in touch that way. I was interested in using Marketplace, but when I tried it a pop up informed me that my account did not meet the standard for using Marketplace...I figured it might be because I didn't log on enough. I literally had not posted in years, and never about politics.
But whatever the reason, I was not sorry to tell them goodbye.

  6. About the only thing I do on fb is watch animal reels. Dogs mainly. Very seldom post anything. Can't imagine why you wouldn't meet their standards. Just ridiculous.

  7. I deactivated my FB last year. It's still there if I wish to go back in there. I was going to delete it completely but from your post I don't think so. I can't fathom what ever could be wrong with you and FB but it is frustrating. I got put in Instagram prison. I still do not know why. I told something their art was fabulous and next thing I know I am banned for a week.
