Shirley strikes again

A couple of weeks back Shirley posted a video of Pharrell Williams singing "Happy". I think everyone will admit this tune makes you want to tap your toe, if not get up and dance. It stuck in my head for a couple of days until I finally downloaded the song on my Ringtone Maker and now, you got it, I dance all the way to answer the phone.

Snow White without his seven dwarfs.

Things have been brilliant around here.  I had my eyes examined and they were great for a person with Type 1 Diabetes. I did have an increase in my reading prescription, enough to warrant a new pair of glasses.

Surprisingly the price has not increased that much but still out of my pocket-change budget.  I started looking at glasses online.  Have you ever ordered online?

The exciting part is you can now upload a photo of yourself on each glasses web page to see how they would look on you.  It seems you can get frames pretty inexpensively but the progressive lens is still up there in price.

I did find one pair that I really liked and looked good on my facial photo but darn it, I can't remember what website it was.  Dadgum it.

Does anybody have first-hand experience with any of these sites?

More later.

  1. Yeah, once you hit the bifocal stage, the price of the lens skyrocket. You can try to decrease the overall price a bit by choosing a less expensive frame but they will still be expensive. I have never used an online site to order glasses from my optometrist's prescription. I prefer to deal with an optician who is trained to situate the lenses and glasses correctly on my face.

    1. I agree that you get the best glasses from the optometrist. The last ones I purchased before the cataract were from the optometrist. I loved them. I looked to see if I still had them but I think I donated them. Darn. I would have used them again with the new prescription.

  2. Our friend purchased his glasses on line. They worked fine but the frames were bright yellow, almost comical looking. They were really cheap which he was after.

  3. A family member uses an online site for glasses and is pleased with them. I decided to visit Costco, I hear their glasses are reasonably priced.

    1. Ive used Costco before and was very satisfied with their glasses. Unfortunately, I don't have a membership anymore. Maybe I can phone a friend.

  4. I have not but have often thought of trying it that way. My costco glasses don't wear well. Please let us all know if you are going to be our guinea pig and try online. Then I'll do it. LOL

  5. No wonder my ears were burning. You've been spreading my name around again, LOL. Well, at least I'm influencing you to become more active. But if you start making voodoo doll ..............

  6. There is a new glasses company advertising on Facebook that has magnetic fronts so you buy one pair and get extras 'fronts' that make you glasses look entirely different. A set of ten fronts for one prescription glasses cost less than the prescription I got for one pair.

I love the idea of 'happy' for a ring tone.
